Kevin Schultz

Kevin is a filmmaker with a passion for developing compelling, character-driven stories, with a particular flair for Horror/Thriller/Sci-Fi. With a strong belief in healthy collaboration, and unquenchable love for cinema, he consistently brings a distinct and imaginative approach to every endeavor he undertakes, ensuring his work is both engaging and memorable. Kevin’s feature film development include the horror-comedy screenplay The Unwanted Exorcist,(co-written with Kayla Howard) which was optioned for production by Perfect 7 Media. His debut feature film, Girl Gone Bad, garnered multiple nominations, including Best Drama Feature, at Kevin Smith's 1st Smodcastle Film Fest, and winning Best International Feature at the Another Hole in the Head FilmFestival. Girl Gone Bad is now conveniently accessible, streaming on Tubi in Canada and Prime Video in the United States and the United Kingdom. In addition to feature film work, Kevin Schultz has a history of directing music videos and short films, showcasing a strong visual style and compelling storytelling. His work often explores themes of identity and belonging, drawing audiences into emotionally resonant narratives. His decade of on-set experience with major TV productions like The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow informs his sharp understanding of large-scale, collaborative filmmaking.

MORALES
VARGAS

Born and raised in Colombia, Giovanna Morales Vargas is a DGC director, writer, and producer based in Vancouver, BC. She is dedicated to carving out space for Latin American voices within the Canadian film industry and beyond, championing stories, both fictional and documentary, that reflect the depth, complexity, and diversity of Latin American experiences. Giovanna brings to light the personal, political, and cultural dimensions of Latinidad, centering perspectives that are often underrepresented on screen. Her work has screened around the world, earning numerous awards and recognitions. Her feature documentary A Perfect 14 received multiple nominations and a total of six awards including Best Documentary at the Twin Cities Film Festival, alongside Academy Award-winning titles, and Best Writing at the Women Texas Film Festival. The film is currently streaming worldwide on Prime Video, where it remained among the top 10 most-watched documentaries in Canada for several weeks post-release. Giovanna’s produced narrative feature, Girl Gone Bad, premiered at Kevin Smith’s SModcastle Film Festival and is now streaming on Tubi and Prime Video US and UK. The film earned the Audience Award for Best Foreign Feature at Another Hole in the Head, one of MovieMaker Magazine’s Top 50 Film Festivals. She has also produced several music videos for pioneer Latin American recording artists who are leaving their mark on Canada’s cultural landscape, further amplifying underrepresented voices through dynamic visual storytelling. An alumna of the 2023 Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC)–Hot Docs Canadian Delegation, the 2023–2024 Whistler Film Festival Documentary Lab, and the 2024 Documentary Organization of Canada (DOC North West) Breakthrough Program, Giovanna continues to deepen her commitment to culturally-rooted storytelling. Giovanna is currently developing several projects and filming Women of Reggaeton, a documentary film that explores Latin Pop and Reggaeton as global phenomena, told through the lens of women recording artists and the feminist movements reshaping the genre from within.

kayla may howard

Kayla May Howard is an emerging screenwriter and storyteller whose creative journey spans continents and genres. Her feature debut, The Unwanted Exorcist, co-written with Kevin Schultz, has been optioned by Perfect 7 Media Inc., a North Vancouver-based production company known for bold, character-driven content. Originally from Brisbane, Australia, she made the jump to Vancouver to pursue her passion for film and television., getting her start in the Costumes department. With a background in Writing, and Art, Kayla has a flair for genre storytelling. She is quickly establishing herself as a fresh voice in the film industry. Her work reflects a commitment to crafting entertaining and emotionally resonant narratives. Kayla continues to develop original projects that explore the intersections of fear, humor, connection, and humanity.
